THIS LAKE IS CRAZY!! Stumps everywhere! So many boating hazards everywhere to try and avoid, but after getting used to the boat lanes things got a bit less stressful! This lake holds the current Texas state record bass and many of the top Largemouth bass produced out of Texas itself.
We took the trip from Dallas and met up with our buddy Jared from Austin for a weekend vacation staying at the Lake Fork marina and motel and purchased a boat slip for easy launch the following morning as well. An amazing trip that led to a NEW PB on our second day that will be showcased in our part 2 of the Fork weekend getaway!

Okay so I text you before about the Garmin trolling motor I just received mine yesterday and have not taken it out of the box yet. I was looking at the problems you are having is it worth having or should I send it back now and get something else?
Is that trolling motor transducer mounted correctly?

Stay by the water markers when going fast!! Lake is amazing! I’ve been there 3 times and only fished probly half of the lake. Check out the fish lyfe app. It shows all the hotspots!! That’s how I got my PB there this year!
Hey man definitely understand the fear of running a boat in new water, best advise is to by a high quality mapping chip. Ive had multiple bands of graphs and lowrance with a navionics has the best detailed maps. (Not sure on garmin)

My advice for fork is if your not comfortable running an area don’t cause most likely your hit a stump better safe than sorry

Don’t know if you calibrated your trolling motor but that’s something you have to do before spot lock will work.
Get you a guide out there to help you learn the lake, definitely will be money well spent and then you will get a better idea out there. Fork can be the toughest place you have ever fished but also very rewarding! Hit up CapN Ron guide service! He’s on Facebook & Instagram. You will love it!
