Sometimes the shallow bite can be tougher than expected in the early spring. If you feel like the bass just are not biting up shallow, try going deep for some more active feeding fish. In this video, I show what I did to find some bass offshore when the shallow bite was not working.

  1. Hey I have a question. I live in Indiana and it's not known for having the biggest bass. Plus are water is really muddy. What baits/areas would I fish because of this difference or would it be the same?

  3. I've been fishing at lake fork for 3 years now. I've only caught 4 bass and they were tiny. I did what u have been saying I've bought your same lure and hooks and nothing work.

    Ps I don't think u fish at LF

    The slow decent is really key in the cold "funk" time before the spawn. I use Hag's F5 (soft & boyant) on a light shakyhead or a Maniac Kraw (Karnie Krawlers) with a very light weight (sometimes weightless) to get that slow decent without too much action.
