My boat I’ve been working on has a hole in it, I’m taking it fishing to see how much water is coming in after patching it up

Fantastic video! I appreciate the
Same happened to my vexus but they took care of it and built me a new one as I was the first owner. Idk what they will do in your case. Probably weld it up but have someone who knows how to weld aluminum. Vexus paid my buddy to weld it to get me through the rest of the summer then I brought it to my dealer and vexus came and picked it and and built me a new one.
Contact vexus if you sre 2nd owner and did the warranty transfer. Any welding will still break again from what ive read. Needs to be a new hull.
check the bottom for cracking along the edges of pad & the strakes. havent dealt with vexus but I have probably sent dozen or so expresses back to factory due to splitting in the strakes !! I have personally filled the boat with water & no leaks found!! put in water may or may not show signs of leakage, put sme in a back down pit left overnite to find small amount water in some, take same to water test running abundance of water in boat !! if you have crack in hull it will open up as the hull is stressed(torque from motor & the effect of being forced thru water will open the crack) but will actually close up on the trailer but before you dive into deep water it it very easy to check hoses, valves for leakage, even drains & overflows for leaks !!! go to hardware outlets purchase rubber or cork tapered plug, plug very intake & discharge fitting. back to lake for water test!! no water you got split hull !! hope not the case i have witnessed folks being without boat for months, plus lots of law suits
Wonder what the big wooded area is behind his house all the way to the lake? Seem like they could’ve put a couple houses on the shore. Maybe a creek runs thru there.
I have a 22’ Xpress and the hull weld broke on the port side. I ultimately had to have a guy that specialized in aluminum welding to weld two strips of plate over the affected area. It’s solid at this point but there’s a definite band aid on there.
Hey LFG, that stinks😡.
Filling it with excess water might be the ticket!
Good luck😮.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Stop using the Lords name in vain
Check the bolt holes for the jack plate. Seal with 3m.
The guy who sold you the boat KNEW it had a crack and is likely why he was selling it, and had you seen it before buying it you could have negotiated a few thousand off the price. Such a shame, but luckily it's an easy repair. a little grinding, drilling and welding with a quick spray of topcoat paint and you will never know.
LFG! You da man! Let us know if you need any artificial turf installed at the new crib. We have a great Dallas franchisee. Grass365. Good luck with the move and keep up the great work. Have a great dangle.
Like your content. My 2021 AVX cracked also. The boat is currently at Vexus being changed out to the V2 version as they are covering under warranty. Check their warranty page. Looks like second owners have structural defect coverage up to 5 years.
How do you not go to your daughter’s first day of kindergarten drop off?
If there's a leak maybe its best to cut your losses… I wouldn't feel the safest
Fix it like i stated in comments of last video. It will be the perfect pratice you need. So you can do it in fiberglass for a professional quality repair
Wish you and you're family the best…
Keep on Rollin brother
That's about a 5 hour trips worth of water in a 1970s jon boat with 0 foam you are good 🤣
Marine adhesive for simple leaks and you may just have to step up and do s fiberglass repair.
Good luck with the transition to the new house.
If you ever wanna come fishing commiefornia I'd let you use my boat.
Good video and thank you much. 😮
Hole in the boat? Lfg that means you need a new boat, 10 new rods, and maybe a new truck. it’s the only reasonable option
Just imagine that fishing line you left in the water could have had a $200-$1000 rig on it!
Clean that silicone out, clean the area with some acetone. Use gel finger nail polish.( comes in lots of colors) A few thin coats will fill it like gel coat. Will last until you are ready to lose the boat for a couple of months.
Weld it up not silicone
When’s the garage sale?…
Vexus used too thin of aluminim on the bottom of the AVX. It is actually cracking, and not on welds. There are several youtube vids with boats all having the same problem. My understanding they are now using thicker aluminum. I have the AVX in the center consloe, spending most of my time on the Ca delta with a fly rod. When the water gets rough I back way off the throttle, hoping to avioid the problem.
Cutting that fishing line was kinda irritating. Love your content, this is the first time I've actually been upset. As a fisherman you had lure in hand, you shoulda pulled out that mass you caught so fish don't die or another angler doesn't snag that. Leave waters and campgrounds better than when you arrived.
In South Louisiana a lot of people run custom Aluminum Boats. 3/16” hauls with some having a 1/4” stern. Gator Trax, Hanko’s Metal Works, Scully Boats, and Sportsman Fab to name a few make boats far superior to other brands.
