Jerkbaits come in all shapes and sizes, so it’s important to know when to fish certain styles. Justin says size and color are the two key features in determining what jerkbait you should throw and in the fall you can’t go wrong with a medium sized, white jerkbait. Bass are pushing schools of shad back in the creeks, so look to target these areas when you’re throwing jerkbaits this time of year.

  1. I’ve noticed when you see bass pushing baitfish onto the shore, burning then tapping your jerkbait can usually get a bite pretty quick. Mostly a burn, tap tap, burn cadence. Hope this helps
