Lake Fork Recap – 2020 Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour Stage Three

There were 4 key approaches to catching bass on Lake Fork during Stage Three of the Bass Pro Tour March 13-18th, 2020. You needed something to flip bushes with, a worm to cover water with to look for males, something to pitch when you come across fish on beds, and of course you always need a Chatterbait on when fishing in the springtime. Here’s my full recap and notes on each set-up below:

For flipping bushes in shallow water, I used the NEW BMT Craw Missile Baits D Bomb sold exclusively at BMT Outdoors with a 1/4 oz Beast Coast tungsten weight and 5/0 heavy cover hook on a 7’6″ Alpha Angler Hitter with 65lb Seaguar Smackdown braid on an 8:1 Quantum Smoke S3 reel.

As a search bait, I used a Merthiolate trick worm with a 4/0 hook on a 7′ Alpha Angler Top Hammer with 30lb Seaguar Smackdown braid on an 8:1 Quantum Smoke S3 reel.

For pitching into beds, I used a Green Pumpkin Missile Baits Crawfather on a 7’3″ Alpha Angler Zilla with 20lb Abrazx fluorocarbon on an 8:1 Quantum Smoke S3 reel.

Finally, a green pumpkin Zman Jack Hammer Chatterbait on a 7’3″ Alpha Angler Zilla with 20lb Seaguar Abrazx fluorocarbon on an 8:1 Quantum Smoke S3 reel.
