Lake Fork Fly Over -Bird island and Hurley Hump

Lake Fork Fly Over
Hurley Hump and Bird Island.Sitting North of Hwy 154 Bridge
Hurley hump a shallow hump really good fishing when hydrilla grows on it
Bird Island a iconic Lake Fork landmark use to be full of oak trees green and beautiful
Then it turned into a bird rookery for cormorants ,pelicans and white egrets (tick birds)
So now its not so pretty and smalls bad when fishing downwind of it.
Pelican almost hits drone at the end
This Island had at one time a prairie dog on it now it is loaded with them,we were idling past it heading the bridge and a prairie was swimming towards the bridge he started swimming towards the boat and wants in so I helped him in the boat he rode on the back deck over to the bridge, looked over at us ,,like thanks for the ride,, jumped off and swam to bridge .
In this Lake Fork fly over series as a bass angler
When I’m watching these videos I’m looking for structure ( bottom contour changes, points creek channels, drop offs) and cover
(Stumps, rocks, man made cover) Where those two meet together
Are places that hold bass when the water is up.So watch careful each one of the these videos show these places . Hope you receive ideas for places to fish from these videos and catch the trophy of your life.

  1. I remember not long after Fork was impounded I used to bream fish with my grandfather at what later became bird island. only there was a huge stand of trees. 12 and 14 foot cane poles, crickets, nightcrawlers and catalpa worms. Oh yea, the cheese, crackers, and summer sausage. The good old days.
